| Minister Care Services
Through these services, we seek to minister to ministers and their spouses and help them deal with their very unique issues. This area includes counseling services offered through a network of therapists/counselors throughout the state who accept referrals from this team. We also partner with networks such as the Ministering to Ministers Foundation.
Wellness events are offered throughout the year. Events include the annual Ministers’ Family Retreat at Oak Hill Academy, Mouth-of-Wilson, Virginia; and “Gathering of Silence” retreats, held twice each year in the spring and fall.
Family Ministry Services
To enhance the family life of our ministers, we offer several events, including training in the Prepare and Enrich counseling model through ministry partner First Things First of Greater Richmond. A number of facilitators are available to lead Marriage Enrichment Seminars, Parenting Conferences, Divorce Recovery Seminars, etc.
Conflict Assistance Services
We offer help to churches who are experiencing conflict, particularly conflict between clergy and the church. A Conflict Resolution/Spiritual Directions Network is available to facilitate resolution of conflict affecting our churches. Detailed information about the Conflict Resolution and Spiritual Directions Network is available at the following links: Conflict Resolution Network and/or Spiritual Directions Process.
Safety Net Services
Safety Net Services emergency funds and other forms of assistance are available for ministers and their families. Guidelines for ministers who have experienced forced termination and applications for assistance are available from the Ministers’ Unemployment Fund.
