Virginia Baptist Hunger Summit

Purposes for this event include:

• Network churches and individuals to address hunger in their communities.
• Assist participants with tools needed for immediate hunger relief, building relational ministries that empower the individual for life change and exploring systemic change through advocacy and community development.
• Connect participants with organizations and initiatives they can partner with to gain practical tools for hunger ministries.

  Dialog among participants about
  current hunger ministries.
• 9:30–10:30 – Breakout session 1
• 10:45–11:45 – Breakout session 2
• 11:45–12:30 - Lunch
• 12:45–1:45 – Gathering 2 (Empowerment Response)
  Understanding poverty and how the church can build empowering relationships in the community.
• 2:00–2:45 – Breakout session 3
• 3:00–4:00 – Gathering 3 (Development Response)
  Panel discussion with state and national organizations concerning practical ways we can partner for advocacy and community development.
• 4:00–4:30 – Closing
