Flooding in Midwest U.S.

Throughout June 2008 extensive floods inundated many river communities in the Midwest U.S.  Now that the flood waters have receded in some areas and things have begun to dry, teams of Disaster Relief volunteers are needed to help with clean up and recovery efforts.

Virginia Baptists Stand Down

VBMB Disaster Relief units stood down for potential response to flooded areas of the US Midwest as their activation is not anticipated in the next 72 hours.

Recovery Unit assessors and managers Paul McDaniel and Leroy Williams were activated to manage teams for mud out activities in Wisconsin from states geographically closer than Virginia.

The possibility remains for activation of VBMB Disaster Relief volunteers as the flood waters make their way downstream.
