Virginia Baptist
Disaster Relief Training
Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) volunteers are unpaid individuals who receive specific training and volunteer their time and efforts to minister to the victims of disaster.
Volunteers can train to serve as Crisis Care Chaplains or with our:
- Feeding Unit
- Recovery Unit
- Water Purification Unit
- Laundry Unit Unit
- Temporary Child Care Unit
Below is a schedule of upcoming training events throughout Virginia.
Each training will offer breakout sessions in feeding, recovery, and temporary child care.
A typical training session is as follows:
- 9am – 10am: Registration
- 10am – Noon: Introduction to Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief
- 12pm – 1pm: Lunch (provided at each event)
- 1pm – 3:30pm: Breakout Sessions (participants select one breakout session to attend at each event)
The cost of the training is $15, which includes all printed materials, an official disaster relief hat, t-shirt, and badge as well as lunch.
